　　Patty the milkmaid had just finished milking her cow and had two full pails of fresh creamy milk.

　　從前有個(gè)擠牛奶的姑娘，名叫帕蒂，有一天她剛擠完了牛奶，得到了滿滿兩大桶新鮮香濃的牛奶。

　　She put both pails on a stick and set off to the market to sell her pails of milk.

　　她用擔(dān)子挑起兩個(gè)牛奶桶，出發(fā)去市場(chǎng)賣奶。

　　Along the way she started to think of all the milk in her pails and all the money she would get for them.

　　在路上，她開(kāi)始想，賣掉這些牛奶她可以拿到很多錢。

　　Once I get the money， I‘ll buy a chicken’， she thought.

　　“拿到錢之后，我就去買只雞。”她想。

　　The chicken will lay eggs and I will get more chickens.

　　“雞會(huì)生蛋，蛋會(huì)孵出更多的雞。

　　They‘ll all lay eggs and I can sell them for more money.

　　“這些雞都會(huì)生蛋，我就能賣掉賺更多的錢。”

　　Then I’ll buy the house on the hill and be the envy of everyone in the village.

　　有了錢我就買下山上那幢房子，讓村里人都嫉妒我。

　　They‘ll ask me to sell the chicken farm， but I’ll toss my head like this and refuse‘.

　　他們會(huì)求我把雞場(chǎng)賣給他們，但是我會(huì)這樣搖著頭拒絕他們。

　　So saying， Patty， the milkmaid tossed her head and dropped her pails.

　　說(shuō)著，擠牛奶的姑娘帕蒂搖了搖頭，不小心打翻了牛奶桶。

　　The milk spilled onto the ground while Patty cried.

　　牛奶全灑在了地上，帕蒂傷心地哭了。
